The job application process is all about scoring. I'm talking about the score given to your CV by the applicant tracking software (ATS), also called "CV scanning software."
The software scans your CV for certain information and ignores other types of information. I see a lot of CVs that are never going to pass the ATS, which is why I ALWAYS recommend a rewrite. My most recent client scored 95% on the ATS after their CV rewrite!
Anything above 70% is considered a pass, and above 85% is fantastic.
I understand the requirements of the ATS, which is NOT a CV full of colour, frills and decoration. It's alarming to see some of the CV templates being used lately, they look like amazing magazine layouts but fail the ATS dismally!
